Our story

It began with a workshop, not a business plan.

Kshitij did not start as an interior company. It started in 1962 as a family joinery practice in Mumbai — people who made things, for clients who came back. Everything the firm is now is an extension of that, at a different scale.

The workshop

A craft, learned properly

The first generation built by hand, for a small circle of clients, in a city that was about to grow very quickly. What was established then was not a brand or a method — it was a standard, and an unglamorous habit of finishing things properly whether or not anyone was watching.

02

The company

From a bench to a business

The workshop became Kshitij Interiors Pvt. Ltd., adding engineering discipline, project management and a formal turnkey practice. The work moved from individual commissions to programmes: headquarters, hotels, showrooms — projects with dates, contracts and consequences.

03

The factory

200,000 sq ft at Wada

The decision that still defines the firm was to build production rather than to buy it. A 200,000 sq ft facility in Wada, Maharashtra, brought design and manufacturing under one roof — and converted a set of promises about quality and schedule into things we control directly.

Today

Pan-India, and still making things

Design, manufacture and execution now run across more than twenty cities, with a workforce of 2,200 and clients that include Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, JW Marriott, L’Oréal, Tanishq and Citi Bank. The scale changed. The reason clients return has not.

क्षितिज — the horizon

Kshitij — क्षितिज — means horizon: the line where two planes meet. It is the right name for a firm built on the meeting of design and making, and it is why our whole argument can be put in two words. Design, manufactured.

Interior delivered by Kshitij Interiors.

Six decades in, the reason clients return hasn’t changed.
